Tack on another $600 million investment to the multi-billion dollar push to move manufacturing operations back to the United States.
Entegris, a Billerica, Massachusetts-based supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor industry, held a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this month for its state-of-the-art facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The building forms part of Entegris’ new campus project, which is targeted to begin initial commercial operation in early 2025, according to the company release.
This week, local #ColoradoSprings leaders joined Entegris CEO Bertrand Loy to break ground for a new manufacturing center of excellence. The facility will support our industry’s growth while adding up to 600 jobs over time. https://t.co/rablaDwRTh #ChipsAct #USjobs #semiconductor pic.twitter.com/m3y15CoB1P

The $600 million project will include several phases, starting with the 100,000 square-foot facility. After completing that build, the company plans to increase its production capability to include the most advanced products for filtration and purification, as well as wafer carriers, according to the release.
Its president and CEO, Bertrand Loy, said the project aims to “help shorten the supply chain” and “meet the growing needs of domestic manufacturers.” The project will generate about 600 new jobs over the next several years, according to the release.
“The semiconductor manufacturing industry is set to expand in the United States following the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act,” said Loy. “Entegris’ manufacturing center of excellence will enable our organization to play a meaningful role in this important effort.”
